External interfaces
Every external interface represents a potential attack surface. For this reason, it is important to understand and secure the physical and logical connections available on the product.
The following interfaces are particularly relevant:
Ethernet ports: Used for configuration, communication with the camera, Asycube, and other devices. These should be connected only within trusted and segmented networks.
Fieldbus interfaces (EtherCAT, PROFINET IO, EtherNet/IP): Provide integration with industrial PLCs. The integrator must ensure that these connections are protected and not exposed to untrusted networks.
Electrical connections: All wiring and cabling must follow the recommendations in the Electrical interfaces section of this documentation. Proper shielding, grounding, and physical security reduce the risk of tampering.
By clearly identifying and controlling external interfaces, system integrators help ensure that the product operates within a secure perimeter and is not unintentionally exposed to cybersecurity risks.
